How to become a publisher

Becoming a publisher is easy and quick.

If you do not have an Edjet account yet follow this steps:

  1. Visit page https://www.edjet.com/landing-pages/start-selling.
  2. Click START NOW
  3. Follow instructions on screen to sign up and submit publishers application.

Tip: If your application is validated and successfully submitted, you can start selling right away.

If you already have an Edjet account:

  1. Log in to Edjet.
  2. Click on your account picture at the top right of the screen.
  3. Click Start selling.
  4. Fill in a publishers application and submit it by clicking OK.

Setup your site for selling

In order to make most of your content, your should work on your credibility.

Edjet site is an important part of your presence on the marketplace and can be very helpful in establishing the trust of your buyers towards you.

We recommend you to consider following steps:

  • Customize your site and provide contacts – Edjet gives you the ability to fully customize your site. From your logo to URL. Write an about text and provide contacts and social accounts. Find out how to customize your site.
  • Make your site public – Learn how to control site privacy.
  • Find a course you want to manage and click Manage.

Picking a course topic

You have complete freedom on a topic of your course.

It can be something you have an expertise in or you are passionate about.

You have several options how to produce a course for Edjet.

Setup your course for selling

Before you start selling your course, please make sure you match the following requirements:

  • Proper course information is filled in – Make sure a proper name of the course, description, content information and tags. All should be factually and grammatically correct and free of typos. Learn how to make changes to your course and how to change information about content.
  • Course has catchy thumbnail image – Do not use your logo, screenshots or other visually heavy content (complicated compositions, image with many texts,…). More about creating great thumbnail image and how to change thumbnail.
  • Set proper region or country and categories – If your course has a country-specific content, language or copyright restrictions, you should limit its availability. Learn how to set region or country and add your course to categories.
  • Set proper certificate options – You have to offer a certificate of completion to your paid course. Find out how to setup certificate.
  • Create and setup course demo – You should offer some “try before buy” option for you paid course. Recommended option is to use special demo version of your course. Learn more about options how to setup a course demo.
  • Prices for all variants are set – You have to offer all course variants. You can offer a discount using Promotional price. Learn how to price your course and where change your course prices.

Setting up a course demo

Many buyers will not make a decision to buy based solely on description provided. You can boost your sales when you create a demo version your course or let them try the full course before buying.

Important: Course progress is not tracked and no certificates of completion are never issued for demo courses.

Pricing your course

Get more insight into our pricing and discounts, so you can identify a good pricing strategy that works for you.

Keep in mind: Edjet will never restrict you how your courses are priced. We will also never change prices of your course or offer discounts on your courses without prior agreement.

Basic principles:

  • Every course has currently 6 variants that buyer can purchase. Each variant has a Regular price, which has to be set. There is no price limit.
  • Each variant has optional Promotional price, which can be used for communicating discounts, promotions or sales. There is no price limit..
  • All prices are entered in USD. For local sites the prices can be converted and displayed in local currency.
  • You can change the prices anytime you want and how often you want, even after the course is on sale.
  • Price you enter is a list price displayed on the marketplace. This means that you have to calculate the prices including all fees.

Publisher Fee

Edjet charges a Publisher Fee that varies from 15% to 35% depending on your all-time sales.

Tip: To easily calculate the amount you earn for every sale take the List Price and deduct our Publisher Fee.

  • Payment and licensing model (buy or subscribe)
  • Pricing (per user, per course)
  • Way of delivery (hosted copy, download).

Entering course prices

You can enter List prices and Promotional prices for all course variants.

To enter regular prices:

  1. Click Library in navigation bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Choose My courses to open your course manager.
  3. Find a course you want to set prices for and click Manage.
  4. Choose Monetization in menu.
  5. Scroll down to prices table and change any of the Regular or Promotional price..
  6. When done, click OK to save changes.

Keep in mind: You can update the prices as often as you want. Prices are updated nearly in real time.

Start selling your course

When your course is ready, you can publish it to the market place.

Important: Please note that once you course is published, it cannot be deleted or unpublished. Found out why.

To publish your course to Edjet marketplace:

  1. Click Library in navigation bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Choose My courses to open your course manager.
  3. Find a course you want to set prices for and click Manage.
  4. Choose Monetization in menu.
  5. Click button Start selling this course now.

Keep in mind: There is no course content review process or content quality check from Edjet crew. The reason for this is simple – It’s not possible for us to have an expertise on all topics. The quality principle is based on community reviews of the network of the subject matter experts, learners from the field that enroll in your course and of course, your competitors. Offering discounts & promotions

Offering your course at a discount can be a great way to create a sense of urgency and getting more buyers to purchase your course.

Keep in mind: Before you consider a strategy around discounts, you should think about the effect this can have on price perception and your sales.

To offer your course at a discount, follow steps for entering course prices.

Check or update publisher details

Please check your account and make sure you have properly filled in all following data:

  • Name and address, including country
  • PayPal account
  • Date of birth
  • If you are VAT registered company inside EU, provide us your VAT identification number

Restrictions of paid course

  • In order to keep the lifetime access guarantee with buyers, paid course cannot be deleted or unpublished.
  • Once your course is paid, it cannot be converted to free course.
  • Comments on paid course cannot be turned off or deleted.
