The aim of this module is to introduce First Year students to the approach and methods of reflective practice by raising their self-awareness and developing a better understanding of others. Students will undertake an examination of the purpose of reflection and its function in helping them to become independent lifelong learners. The module will introduce models of reflection and provide students with opportunities to apply these models in real life through practical exercises in which they reflect on real situations that they have faced in their past experience as well as during the course of their first year in higher education. Additionally, the module aims to prepare students for employment after graduation by increasing their personal development and graduate attributes (and thus their employability). The module is delivered online, and will be available in Semester 2 of an academic year.
